The flag seems to move freely when I move it with my finger, but when the ADF is in use, something seems to be keeping it from completely returning to the original position - but in stages, as the paper pauses going into the output tray. Then the machine jams, as described before. Then, with the second 'pause', it pops up another couple of degrees into the fully deployed position. With the first 'paper pause' I described in my original post, the flag pops up another couple of degrees. I can hear a quiet 'click' as the flag contacts something hard (this is distinct from the much louder 'pop' that accompanies the pause in the paper movement). Once the sheet feeds into the scanner past the flag, the flag pops up most of the way to the fully deployed position. When the page starts to feed and moves upwards into the slot, the flag follows, and I can see it pushing up against the bottom of the page. When I put a page into the feeder, the page pushes the sensor flag down and there is a beep, just as you describe. Interesting behavior, though, when I run a sheet through the machine and keep an eye on the sensor flag: The Sensor flag is deployed, and seems to move freely, both up and down.

Dry with a lint free rag (an old clean tee-shirt works good) or compressed DRY air. Next, using warm water and a mild soap solution (never alcohol), wash the grime from the rubber tire surfaces then completely dry the feed roller and plastics. lift small clip enough to slide the roller completely off the end of the shaft) Have someone hold the unit up at an angle while you remove the Feed roller. Is it there? Is it twisted or damaged?Īlso, the cleaning the rollers "trick" applies to your feed problem as well. Along the top edge of the pad, there should be a metal strip.

If you pull out your tray and look down at the rubber pad, this is called the Separator Pad. We won't really know until he replies to the thread he started. so my interpretation is that the ADF feeder is what he's having a problem with. You can't scan or fax using the main paper tray. Thanks for any and all help.To quote " It doesn't matter if I'm scanning or faxing, it will jam at some point." DELL LASER MFP 1815DN ROLLER PDF
anybody have any hints or suggestions, I've looked at various post and solutions on web and nothing to seems to work with the problems I'm having. Hier findest du die Bedienungsanleitung/Handbuch des Sony Dell 1815dn als PDF Datei auf deutsch und/oder auf englisch sowie in anderen Sprachen. Now when I use the bypass tray and not use the paper tray for loading paper the printer works just fine no problem and I can print multiple pages without a jam and it is is just when I try to load paper from the paper tray to use that i gives me the jamming issues, with it working fine with this setup, I don't think its the fuser unit or toner cartridge giving me the problems, I just can't seem to figure out what is causing this to jam. I have a Dell 1815dn, I recently got this printer from work, the printer works great most of the time, the problem is if I print just one page it prints fine, but if I print more than one page it gives me a "paper Jam, cartridge one error," then have to open the back cover and pull the toner cartridge out and clear out the jam and the printer works again just fine, I noticed that when I do that it seems there is one page that is stuck halfway through and the next page is caught in the rollers going up to the toner cartridge, almost like is trying to feed 2 pages at a time, I've pulled the fuser unit out, and cleaned out the rollers and didn't see any paper caught inside, I've also cleaned all the other rollers and I can't find anything wrong or jammed inside.
